Job summary

Autoskills-Uk in Winsford is seeking an MET Technician to repair vehicles using mechanical, electrical and trim expertise. You will strip, diagnose, remove and refit components, ensuring safety and quality to manufacturer methods.

The role offers 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible start times between 7am and 6pm and an OTE of £60,000. Basic salary ranges £40,000–£50,000+ DOE in a permanent Bodyshop environment.

Qualifications

• Previous MET Technician experience in an accident repair centre or professional Bodyshop.
• Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Mechanical, Electrical & Trim (NVQ/IMI/SVQ/ATA).
• Strong mechanical, electrical and vehicle trim knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical, electrical and trim strip and refit work on accident-damaged vehicles.
• Remove and replace damaged components in preparation for structural/body repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues from vehicle damage.
• Reassemble vehicles following panels/paint work and ensure correct fitting of components.
• Perform functional and safety checks to confirm systems operate correctly.
• Work closely with panel beaters, paint technicians and assessors.
• Maintain tools and workshop area in a clean, safe condition.
