Job summary

Auto Skills UK is seeking an experienced MET Technician in Tewkesbury to join a modern bodyshop team. You’ll handle mechanical, electrical and trim work on accident-damaged vehicles, following manufacturer procedures and safety guidelines to ensure high‑quality repairs.

This full‑time, permanent role offers a salary up to £45,000 depending on experience, Monday to Friday, 08:30–17:00, with no weekend commitments and ongoing training to support career progression within a professional environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an MET Technician within an automotive accident repair centre or bodyshop
• Strong mechanical, electrical and trim knowledge
• Experience stripping and refitting modern vehicles following accident damage
• Good understanding of vehicle construction, repair methods and manufacturer procedures
• Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues effectively
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safe, high-quality repairs
• Ability to work efficiently within a busy production environment
• Professional, reliable and motivated approach
• Strong team player with the ability to work independently when required
• IMI and/or ATA qualifications advantageous
• Full UK Driving Licence preferred

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical, electrical and trim removal and refitting on accident-damaged vehicles
• Strip and refit vehicle components accurately and efficiently
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults associated with accident repairs
• Complete pre-repair and post-repair checks to ensure vehicles are safe and correctly assembled
• Work closely with Panel Technicians and other bodyshop departments to maintain efficient vehicle throughput
• Follow manufacturer repair methods, technical procedures and Health & Safety requirements
• Identify additional damage or repair requirements and communicate these to the relevant team members
• Complete repairs within agreed production times while maintaining excellent technical standards and attention to detail
