Ace Academics Consultancy seeks a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join the estates and facilities team at a South East London Further Education college. The role is hands-on, covering a broad range of mechanical and building services tasks.

Qualifications

• A recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification, Level 3 or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer or Building Services Engineer.
• Strong practical mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
• Experience with planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
• Willingness to undertake general maintenance and multi-trade duties beyond core specialism.
• Good understanding of health & safety and safe maintenance practices.
• Reliable, adaptable and able to work independently or in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across college buildings and facilities.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults involving pumps, motors, heating, ventilation and associated building services equipment.
• Undertake general building maintenance and multi-trade repairs as required.
• Assist with basic electrical maintenance and fault identification within your qualifications and competence.
• Support the inspection, servicing and maintenance of mechanical and electrical plant and equipment.
• Work with the Site Engineering Manager to identify maintenance priorities and resolve issues.
• Complete maintenance records, job sheets and relevant compliance documentation.
• Liaise with external contractors and assist with maintenance projects and remedial works.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and urgent maintenance requests.
• Share responsibility for opening and closing site coverage through an agreed staggered shift pattern.
