Job summary

Kinetic plc is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Wallsend to maintain plant reliability and minimize downtime. The role covers planned and reactive maintenance with a bias toward electrical or mechanical systems, and involves supporting SMED activities and continuous improvement.

Applicants should have at least 2 years in manufacturing maintenance, strong mechanical/electrical skills including PLC fault-finding, and be committed to HSE standards.

Qualifications

• Qualifications: City & Guilds or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with SMED and setup improvement.
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge including basic PLC programming and fault-finding.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance to keep machinery operating efficiently.
• Assist with process setup and participate in SMED activities to reduce downtime.
• Work with production teams to ensure equipment availability and smooth operations.
• Coordinate audits and promote health, safety, and quality practices.
