Job summary

MTrec Ltd, on behalf of its engineering client, is recruiting a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join their growing organisation in Wallsend, England. This is a good opportunity to develop your skills within an industry‑leading, blue‑chip employer.

You will service and maintain factory, warehouse and office facilities, support production teams, and address breakdowns quickly. The role is 40 hours per week on a 2x8 hour shift pattern (days and backshift) with overtime and a generous benefits

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or above in Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance.
• Experience with PLC systems is advantageous.
• Multiskilled with mechanical and electrical capability.
• Able to work well both in a team and individually.
• Fast-paced, high-volume production environment experience beneficial.
• Strong communication skills at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Maintain factory, warehouse, and office facilities to a high standard.
• Uphold safety, compliance, and quality of manufactured products.
• Ensure all production and warehouse equipment is properly maintained and fully operational.
• Ensure housekeeping standards are consistently met.
• Assist production teams to support smooth, efficient, and uninterrupted operations.
• Oversee subcontractors when required to ensure work is completed safely and effectively.
• Carry out routine servicing of production machinery and address breakdowns promptly.
• Accurately document servicing activities, maintenance work, and equipment failures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts aimed at improving machinery efficiency and reliability.
• Order spare parts when the Engineering Team Leader is unavailable.
• Participate in site opening and closing procedures while ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
