Job summary

83zero Ltd is seeking a Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician to join the ERDC at their state-of-the-art engine test facility. The role focuses on maintaining, fault-finding and upgrading critical testbed equipment to support engine development.

The ideal candidate will have an engineering apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 and proven hands-on mechanical maintenance experience. Hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge is highly valued, along with the ability to read engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical maintenance experience required.
• Able to interpret mechanical, hydraulic and electrical drawings.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostics skills.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform reactive, planned and preventative mechanical maintenance on facility equipment.
• Fault finding, repairs and installation of equipment across the test facility.
• Read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical drawings.
• Support equipment upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
• Conduct root cause analysis and technical problem solving.

£29.94 per hour | 5 days on-site | 12 months | Inside IR35

We're looking for an experienced Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician to join a leading Engine Research & Development Centre, working within a state-of-the-art engine test facility.

This is a great opportunity to work on advanced testbed and facility equipment, supporting engine development in a highly technical engineering environment.

What you'll be doing

• Reactive, planned and preventative mechanical maintenance
• Fault finding, repairs and installation of facility equipment
• Working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Reading mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical drawings
• Supporting equipment upgrades and continuous improvement projects
• Root cause analysis and technical problem solving
• Working alongside engineers, technicians and external contractors
• Supporting and mentoring apprentices and colleagues

What we're looking for

• Engineering apprenticeship and/or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
• Strong hands‑on mechanical maintenance experience
• Confident fault‑finding and diagnostics skills
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems or pipe fitting would be highly desirable
• Experience with laser alignment of rotating equipment is a bonus
