Job summary

Caterpillar Peterlee is seeking a multiskilled Maintenance Technician to uphold uptime across automated metal cutting, paint, welding and material handling equipment. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance on PLCs, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and robotic systems, using SAP PM and Agility.

The role is full-time on a 4 crew, 3 shift pattern in Peterlee, County Durham, with 16 rest days in a 4-week cycle and a salary around £46,183 per year plus shift allowance and bonus

Qualifications

• Safety-focused with adherence to procedures and safety policy.
• Experience with PLCs and fault-finding in a manufacturing environment.
• Apprenticeship and/or formal maintenance qualification.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical maintenance in manufacturing.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to continuous improvement and learning.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative and reactive maintenance across a range of equipment.
• Carry out Dynamic Risk Assessments and follow Health & Safety procedures.
• Utilise SAP PM/Agility to review breakdown data and record actions.
• Diagnose PLC concerns and implement program changes.
• Complete training and ongoing learning as required.
• Identify root causes and implement countermeasures.
