Job summary

Omnia Inclusive Employment Solutions Ltd is recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer in the UK to service industrial furnaces and related equipment. You will join a small, supportive maintenance team, working on heat treatment plants and associated machinery with hands-on responsibilities.

Essential candidates will have solid mechanical experience, fault-finding ability and a proactive approach. Training will be provided, including exposure to heat treatment gear; a relevant engineering

Qualifications

• Previous experience in mechanical engineering, maintenance or a similar hands-on engineering role.
• Good mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with pumps, motors, bearings and mechanical drive systems.
• Basic welding, fabrication or pipe fitting knowledge would be beneficial.
• Some electrical knowledge would be advantageous but is not essential.
• A relevant engineering qualification would be desirable.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Reliable, hardworking and willing to develop new skills.
• We would also welcome applications from Semi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers, Mechanical Fitters and mechanically biased engineers looking to progress into a maintenance position.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and servicing of industrial furnaces and associated machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and assist with breakdown repairs.
• Maintain and repair pumps, motors, bearings, belts, pulleys and transmission systems.
• Undertake general mechanical maintenance, including basic welding, fabrication and pipe fitting.
• Assist with installation, commissioning and upgrades of plant and equipment.
• Complete maintenance records and relevant engineering documentation.
• Support continuous improvement activities to increase equipment reliability.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
• Participate in out-of-hours breakdown support when required.

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established engineering company specialising in the heat treatment of steel and non-ferrous components for the Aerospace and Engineering industries.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased engineer to join a small, supportive maintenance team, working on a variety of industrial furnaces, machinery and associated plant equipment.

Our client is looking for someone who is hands-on, reliable and keen to learn, with a solid mechanical background. Previous experience with heat treatment equipment is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

The Role
