Job summary

Merlin Entertainments in London is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure the safe, reliable operation of life support systems, exhibits, and building infrastructure at SEA LIFE London Aquarium.

The role involves fault-finding, preventative maintenance, and rapid response in a high-traffic public venue, with rotating early/late shifts and heavy lifting/daily physical tasks. Ongoing training and development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Proven working history as an Engineer/Technician within a factory facilities, manufacturing, or heavy industrial background.
• Holding a Degree, City & Guilds or ONC, NVQ Level 2-3 or BTEC equivalent.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification would be nice to have but not essential.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding capabilities with interest in the role.
• Familiarity with PLC controls, HVAC/chiller systems, and fluid/pumping mechanics.
• Experience managing heavy PPM schedules and a proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service, and repair high-flow pumps and life support systems.
• Conduct planned preventative maintenance on mechanical plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot lighting systems, including DMX lighting across exhibits.
• Perform PLC fault finding and diagnostics on automated controls.
• Carry out PAT testing.
• PPM scheduling for AHUs, AC units, chillers, and extract fans.
