Job summary

Mears Group PLC in Exeter is seeking a multi-skilled operative to support a busy planned works contract. You will deliver high-quality repairs across carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, and more in occupied social housing properties, ensuring safety and customer satisfaction.

The role requires hands-on multi-trade skills, a full UK driving licence, and a commitment to high workmanship. A company van, fuel card, and uniform are provided, with opportunities to work out-of-hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in domestic repairs and maintenance across multiple trades (e.g. plumbing, plastering, tiling, decorating and minor carpentry).
• Previous experience in full bathroom refurbishments.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day Planned Projects across social housing properties.
• Complete full bathroom refurbishments.
• Replace or repair skirting boards, architraves, and internal door frames.
• Install and adjust bathroom units, worktops, and full bathroom refits.
• Repair internal doors, handles, locks, and hinges.
• Identify and fix plumbing issues such as leaks, dripping taps, and blocked sinks.
• Carry out plastering and making good damaged walls or ceilings.
• Paint and decorate to a professional finish after repairs.
• Ensure repairs are completed safely and to a high standard.
