Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer for a manufacturing site in Macclesfield. You will carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance on production equipment, diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults and supporting PLC-controlled machinery.

Qualifications

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Electrical, Mechanical or Maintenance Engineering.
• Proven multi-skilled maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with PLC-controlled equipment and PLC fault diagnosis.
• Knowledge of motors, drives, inverters, sensors, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Strong problem-solving and proactive maintenance approach.
• Good communication and teamwork; flexible for shift work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
• Troubleshoot and support automated machinery and process equipment.
• Fault-find on PLC-controlled systems and support modifications where required.
• Minimise downtime through root cause analysis and proactive problem-solving.
• Support continuous improvement to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
• Maintain maintenance records using the site's CMMS.
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Assist with installation, commissioning and upgrades of plant and machinery.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to meet targets.
