Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer for a manufacturing site in Macclesfield. You will carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance on production equipment, diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults and supporting PLC-controlled machinery.

Qualifications

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Electrical, Mechanical or Maintenance Engineering.
• Proven multi-skilled maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with PLC-controlled equipment and PLC fault diagnosis.
• Knowledge of motors, drives, inverters, sensors, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Strong problem-solving and proactive maintenance approach.
• Good communication and teamwork; flexible for shift work.

Responsibilities

Description

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
• Troubleshoot and support automated machinery and process equipment.

Profile

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Maintenance Engineering, or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, processing, or industrial environment.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities.
• Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment and PLC fault diagnosis.
• Knowledge of motors, drives, inverters, sensors, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible attitude towards shift work and operational requirements.

Desirable

• HNC/HND in Engineering.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• Experience with Siemens, Allen Bradley, or Mitsubishi PLCs.
• Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, or TPM experience.
• Understanding of CMMS systems.
