Job summary

AB InBev UK&I is seeking an ambitious Shift Engineer to maintain and optimise a high‑throughput ASRS in a fast‑moving FMCG setting. You will fault-find, diagnose, and implement improvements to maximise system reliability and output.

This hands-on role requires ownership, quick learning, and a drive to progress into leadership. You may work 4 on/4 off, 2 days and 2 nights, within a safety‑conscious team.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Multiskilled engineer with strong electrical and mechanical fundamentals.
• Experience fault finding in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a multi-disciplined engineering team and with automated warehouse systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the ASRS system.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and mechanical faults under pressure.
• Take ownership of breakdowns from fault to permanent resolution.
• Analyze equipment data to identify recurring issues and improvements.
• Record maintenance activity in SAP/CMMS and work with OEMs/contractors.

Primary purpose and function of position

Reporting to the First Line Manager, you will play a key role within a high-performing engineering team supporting a fast-paced Automated Storage & Retrieval System (ASRS).

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on fault finding, problem solving, and driving equipment reliability in a demanding FMCG environment. You will take ownership of issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable improvements to maximise system performance.

This role is ideal for an ambitious, proactive engineer who takes ownership, learns quickly, and is motivated to progress into a leadership position.

You may be required, from time to time, to carry out tasks in addition to or instead of your normal duties, either for the brewery or for Budweiser Brewing Group UK\&I, provided that they are reasonable and within your capabilities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across the ASRS as part of a multi-skilled engineering team.

Accountabilities

Mechanical and Electrical maintenance, including

• Carry out planned and reactive electrical and mechanical maintenance across the ASRS system
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and mechanical faults in a high-pressure environment
• Take full ownership of breakdowns from initial fault through to permanent resolution
• Analyse equipment performance data to identify and eliminate recurring issues
• Identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives to improve system reliability and performance
• Challenge existing practices and drive improvements to engineering and operational standards
• Develop and improve SOPs, SWIs, and maintenance procedures
• Work closely with OEMs and contractors to resolve technical issues and manage spares
• Record maintenance activity accurately within SAP/CMMS systems
• Support and uphold safety, quality, and performance standards at all times
• Contribute to a high-performing team culture built on accountability and ownership
• Work at height where required

Key Experience and Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
• Multi-skilled engineer with strong fundamentals of electrical and mechanical feilds
• Proven fault finding experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Experience working within a multi-disciplined engineering team
• Experience working with PLC-controlled systems
• SAP PM / CMMS experience
• Experience with automated warehouse systems
• Demonstrates ambition and capability to progress into a leadership role
