Job summary

Yolk Recruitment is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a Barnsley-based manufacturing business. The role operates on a 4 on/4 off pattern, with day and night shifts, and offers up to £50,000 per year.

You will identify failure modes of plant equipment, diagnose and repair breakdowns, coordinate with engineering day teams, manage spares, and drive preventive maintenance in line with schedules.

Qualifications

• Significant experience within a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer role within manufacturing.
• Aptitude for diagnosing and repairing equipment, and reporting clearly.
• Apprenticeship completed in Maintenance Engineering; NVQ Level 3 equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Identifying failure modes of plant equipment and returning the equipment to operation safely and in a reasonable timescale.
• Diagnosing and repairing equipment breakdowns.
• Liaising with engineering day teams to identify and resolve long-term engineering issues.
• Locating spare parts using the maintenance management system and managing stores returns.
• Identifying failure modes of electrical equipment and making recommendations to prevent further failures.
• Obtaining maintenance schedules and recording work carried out using notifications.
• Carrying out preventive maintenance routines and coordinating with other engineers to complete scheduled PMs.
