Job summary

Talent Guardian is recruiting on behalf of a well-established FMCG manufacturer in Knighton for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer. You will join a busy engineering department to keep production and site equipment operating reliably through planned maintenance, fault-finding and rapid response to breakdowns.

The role offers a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern (6:00–18:00 / 18:00–06:00) with days/nights rotating every two blocks.

Qualifications

Must hold a time-served engineering qualification (Level 3) and have strong mechanical and electrical maintenance capabilities.
Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is essential.
Proven fault-finding skills and a hands-on approach to maintenance.
Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
PLC fault-finding knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across production and site equipment.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and complete effective repairs.
Respond quickly to breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
Work with production teams to improve equipment reliability and performance.
Support continuous improvement projects site-wide.
Maintain accurate maintenance records using the CMMS.
Ensure compliance with health, safety and engineering procedures.
Identify recurring faults and recommend long-term improvements.
