Job summary

Multi Skilled Engineer role at a Northampton manufacturing site, joining a busy maintenance team to support reliability and performance. It combines planned and reactive maintenance with a focus on root cause analysis to keep equipment running efficiently.

The ideal candidate is apprentice-trained and electrically biased, with Level 3/NVQ 3 and CMMS experience. 42-hour week, 06:00-18:00 shift, 3 on/2 off; £49,275 base plus 10% shift allowance (£54,200).

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained electrically biased multi-skilled engineer with Level 3 / City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3.
• Experience with instrument calibration, CMMS and preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Food manufacturing experience is particularly valuable.

Responsibilities

• Planned preventive and reactive maintenance across site equipment.
• Fault finding on HMIs, PLCs, DCS and SCADA systems.
• Support production to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
• Completing maintenance records and identifying root causes.
• Improving repair times, reliability and engineering KPIs.
• Supporting continuous improvement and plant efficiency projects.
• Maintaining high standards of safety, hygiene and food safety.

Multi Skilled Engineer

£49,275 + 10% shift allowance = £54,200

Days - 6am-6pm | 42-hour average week | 3 on / 2 off

Are you a Multi Skilled Engineer looking for a role where your engineering skills genuinely make a difference?

This is an opportunity to join a busy manufacturing environment in Northampton, working as part of an experienced maintenance team supporting the reliability and performance of the site.

You’ll be responsible for a mix of planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, fault finding and continuous improvement, working closely with production to keep equipment running efficiently. The role suits an engineer who enjoys getting to the root cause of problems rather than simply fixing the immediate issue.

The Role

Planned preventative and reactive maintenance across site equipment

Fault finding on HMIs, PLCs, DCS and SCADA systems

Supporting production to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime

Completing maintenance records and identifying root causes

10% shift allowance
