Job summary

Vanta Staffing are recruiting an experienced Engineering Technician to join a busy manufacturing environment in Slough. The role sits on a night shift (4 on/4 off, 6:00pm–6:00am) and focuses on keeping plant, machinery and services operating safely, reliably and efficiently.

You will apply mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills, work with PLC-controlled production equipment and support continuous improvement across the operation. The salary is £50,000 per annum.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Hands-on experience with PLC-controlled production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Respond promptly to mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
• Diagnose faults, establish root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Carry out routine maintenance, servicing and repairs on production equipment and machinery.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, quality and throughput.

The Role

Working as part of the Engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring plant, machinery, equipment and services operate safely, efficiently and reliably. You will play a key role in minimising downtime, responding quickly to breakdowns and supporting continuous improvement across the operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills, together with hands-on experience of PLC-controlled production equipment.
