Job summary

Benjamin Moore is seeking an experienced maintenance engineer to join our engineering team in Prudhoe. You will lead reactive and preventative maintenance across a GMP-regulated site, ensuring uptime, quality and safety standards are met.

You will diagnostic faults on mechanical and electrical systems, plan and execute improvements, and coordinate with production to minimise downtime. The ideal candidate has ≥5 years in engineering, NVQ3+ or HNC/HND, and relevant certifications (16th/18th

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience.
• Proven track record in a regulated GMP environment.
• Certified electrical or mechanical discipline with formal qualification.
• Experience with three-phase motor drives and PLC fault-finding.
• Knowledge of zoned industrial areas and PUWER principles.
• Proactive in driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities.

Working within the engineering department you will assist in the optimisation and running of the factory by resolving breakdowns and delivering maintenance to schedule. You will also look to drive improvements across the site in terms of new machinery, hygiene, safety, quality, and performance.

Responsibilities

Responsible for all reactive and proactive maintenance, whilst making sure it is carried out to the highest possible standards across the whole site.

Liaise with management on any required works in progress.

Manage maintenance work orders from all departments on a timely basis to regulatory standards.

Perform day-to-day routine and preventative maintenance within the factory.

Respond promptly and efficiently to any maintenance calls that arise from all departments.

Able to prioritise the maintenance issues and delegate accordingly. Attend the breakdown of the plant and machinery when required.

Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on all types of filling equipment, tanks, and conveyors, as well as other associated machinery.

Carry out PPM on-site to schedule, whilst always ensuring a proactive approach to planned maintenance and completion.

Deliver on plant uptime and maintenance KPI’s through planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance.

Deliver improvement work on machinery and site improvement work.

Ensuring your time is managed effectively and that engineering downtime is low.

Monitor equipment performance, take immediate corrective action to resolve problems as they occur, and escalation as needed.

Carry out PUWER risk assessments for equipment.

Spares stock monitoring.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience.

Proven track record in a regulated environment working to GMP standards.

16th/18th edition certification required

Recognised Electrical/ mechanical experience/formal engineering qualifications to NVQ Level 3, or higher in electrical or mechanical. (HNC/HND) IOSH, IPAF

Experienced in mechanical fault-finding skills.
