Job summary

Regional Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (60/40 Mech/Elec) for a busy plastic recycling site in Leicester. Permanent, full-time role with a £42K base and unlimited overtime (OTE £50K+). 4 on/4 off, 12-hour rotating days and nights.

You will maintain and repair conveyors, motors, gearboxes and hydraulic/pneumatic systems, ensuring safe, reliable equipment. Essential: 3+ years in maintenance engineering with strong mechanical and electrical backgrounds,

Qualifications

• Essential: 3+ years' maintenance engineering experience.
• Essential: strong mechanical maintenance background.
• Essential: strong electrical maintenance background.
• Essential: experience in manufacturing, production, recycling or industrial environments.
• Essential: fault-finding and breakdown experience.
• Essential: knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, gearboxes, bearings and conveyors.
• Essential: ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Essential: proactive maintenance and problem-solving approach.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across the site.
• Responding to mechanical and electrical breakdowns and carrying out repairs.
• Fault finding and diagnosing issues with production and manufacturing equipment.
• Maintaining and repairing conveyors, motors, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Supporting continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
• Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime.
• Ensuring all maintenance work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Assisting with installation and improvement projects when required.

Qualifications

Essential:

• A minimum of 3 years' maintenance engineering experience
• A strong mechanical maintenance background
• A strong electrical maintenance background
• Experience working within a manufacturing, production, recycling or industrial environment
• Strong fault-finding and breakdown experience
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, gearboxes, bearings and conveyors
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving

Desirable:

• Full UK Driving License
• Level 3 (or Equivalent) in Mechanical/ Electrical Maintenance
