Metalis Engineering Recruitment is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a well-established manufacturing business in Huddersfield. You will carry out planned preventive maintenance across a range of production machinery, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults, and support continuous improvement to reduce downtime and boost throughput.

You should be apprenticeship-trained or qualified in Mechanical, Electrical or Multi-Skilled Engineering, with experience in

• Experience in maintaining machinery within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Location: Huddersfield

Salary: £46,000 per annum

Hours: 38 hours per week | Double Days

Metalis Engineering Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established manufacturing business, for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team in Huddersfield.This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on engineer to play a key role in maintaining machinery, reducing downtime and improving production efficiency within a busy manufacturing environment.

The Role

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across a range of production machinery.


• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.


• Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, bulk handling and automated systems.


• Respond to breakdowns quickly to minimise production downtime.


• Record maintenance activities using the Sage CMMS system.


• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.


• Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards and relevant regulations, including PUWER.

About You

• Apprenticeship-trained or qualified in Mechanical, Electrical or Multi-Skilled Engineering.


• Previous maintenance experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.


• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.


• Good knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.


• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.


• A proactive team player with a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving.

Desirable: 18th Edition (essential for electrically biased candidates), inspection and testing, fabrication and welding skills, and IPAF/PASMA qualifications.
