ADE Recruitment Limited is seeking a highly capable Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer for a manufacturing environment in South Manchester. The role focuses on mechanical repair and maintenance with an 80/20 electrical bias, supporting production through rapid breakdown responses and planned maintenance.

The successful candidate will hold City & Guilds/NVQ in Mechanical Engineering, be time served in mechanical maintenance, and bring PLC fault-finding knowledge; Lean manufacturing and 5S

Qualifications

• Time-served mechanical maintenance with basic electrical experience.
• Experience as a multi-skilled maintenance engineer in manufacturing.
• PLC fault-finding knowledge is advantageous.
• Lean manufacturing and 5S experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• React to machine breakdowns and liaise with the production team.
• Carry out PPM checks and maintenance work as directed.
• Fill out relevant paperwork (e.g. PPM sheets).
• Pro-actively look for and implement improvement opportunities.
• Maintain a clean and tidy workshop environment.

The Company is looking to enhance its operational team by appointing an experienced Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer.

Working Hours

The working hours are 07:30 – 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 07:30 – 12:30 on Friday’s.

Job Description

The Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer will assist in the mechanical, electrical repair and maintenance of production machinery across the factory. The role requires a candidate with strong mechanical experience and a secondary electrical bias (80% mechanical / 20% electrical).

• Reacting to Machine breakdowns and liaising with the production team.
• Carrying out PPM checks and maintenance work as directed.
• Filling out relevant paperwork for the role (e.g. PPM sheets).
• Pro-actively looking for and implementing improvement opportunities.
• Maintaining a clean and tidy workshop environment.

About You

• A City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
• Time Served skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with basic electrical experience.
• Experience required as a Mult-skilled Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
• PLC fault finding knowledge will be advantageous. In addition, the ability to identify potential issues and advise on corrective course of measures.
• Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing skills and experience would be beneficial.
• Proactive approach to your work and being highly motivated.
• Experience in working in a fast-paced Manufacturing background.
• Understanding and maintaining 5S.
