Job summary

MacGregor Black are partnering with a leading food manufacturing business in Hereford to recruit Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineers. You will join the Engineering team to maintain production and processing equipment, performing planned and reactive maintenance to maximise availability and minimise downtime.

This role suits Mechanical, Electrical or Multi‑Skilled engineers with a proactive approach, capable of fault‑finding and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical or Multi-Skilled Engineering.
• Previous maintenance engineering experience within manufacturing, production or a similar environment.
• Strong fault-finding skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently while being part of a wider Engineering team.
• Commitment to health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on production machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Respond effectively to equipment breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
• Maintain conveyors, processing equipment, packaging machinery and automated systems.
• Carry out fault-finding across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Identify recurring issues and suggest improvements to equipment reliability.
• Support continuous improvement and engineering improvement projects.
• Complete maintenance records and documentation accurately.
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with health, safety, food safety and hygiene standards.
• Work closely with Production teams to keep manufacturing operations running efficiently.
• Maintain engineering standards, tools and equipment.

MacGregor Black are partnering with a Leading Food Manufacturing business to recruit Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineers to join their Engineering team on a permanent, full‑time basis. This role is based in Hereford.

This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced Mechanical, Electrical or Multi‑Skilled Engineers to join a large‑scale manufacturing environment and play a key role in keeping production running safely and efficiently.

Working as part of the Engineering team, you'll be responsible for maintaining a range of production and processing equipment, carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance to maximise equipment availability and minimise downtime. You'll work closely with Production and Engineering colleagues to identify faults, resolve issues and continually improve equipment reliability.

What We're Looking For

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical or Multi‑Skilled Engineering.
• Previous maintenance engineering experience within manufacturing, production or a similar environment.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault‑finding skills.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing machinery breakdowns.
• Comfortable working within a fast‑paced production environment.
• A proactive approach to maintenance and problem‑solving.
• Ability to work independently while being part of a wider Engineering team.
• Good communication skills and a strong focus on health and safety.
