Job summary

MacGregor Black partners with a leading FMCG manufacturer to recruit a Multi-Skilled Engineer. You will join an established engineering team in a modern production facility, focusing on keeping equipment safe, efficient and reliable while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

As a Shift Engineer, you will maintain a wide range of production equipment, maximise plant availability and support performance targets.

Qualifications

• Experience as Maintenance/Shift/Multi-Skilled Engineer in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
• Strong fault-finding across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience delivering planned and reactive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Production, Technical and Engineering teams.
• Assist with machinery installations, upgrades and improvement projects.
• Ensure all engineering work meets Health & Safety, Quality and Food Safety standards.

Working within a modern manufacturing environment, you'll play a key role in ensuring production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably while supporting the site's ongoing continuous improvement programme.

As a Shift Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining a wide range of production and process equipment, ensuring maximum plant availability, and supporting operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Working collaboratively with Production, Technical and Engineering teams.
• Assisting with machinery installations, upgrades and improvement projects.
• Ensuring all engineering work is completed in line with Health & Safety, Quality and Food Safety standards.

What We're Looking For

• Experience as a Maintenance Engineer, Shift Engineer or Multi-Skilled Engineer.
• Background within FMCG, food manufacturing, beverage manufacturing or another fast-paced production environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical and/or electrical systems.
• Experience delivering planned and reactive maintenance.
• A recognised engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ, HNC or equivalent).
• A proactive approach with a passion for continuous improvement.
