Job summary

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Multiskilled Craftsperson to support Hexham General Hospital and the Haltwhistle Memorial Hospital site. The role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with participation in the on-call rota for essential out-of-hours duties.

You will work within the Estates and Facilities team, focusing on the day-to-day operation and maintenance of Building/Engineering services, plant and equipment, and some installation work across Trust

Qualifications

• M&E Building Services experience required.
• Able to operate under pressure and manage conflicting priorities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Job description

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Multiskilled Craftsperson to work at Hexham General Hospital. The successful candidate(s) will work alongside the current multi skilled team to maintain the Hexham Hospital site including the Haltwhistle Memorial Hospital site. The post is 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday and will also take part in the emergency on call rota.
The post holder is working for Northumbria Healthcare Facilities Management.

The successful post holder will be involved in the day to day operation and maintenance of all Building/Engineering, life and business-critical services, plant and equipment within all Trust and non-Trust properties within their remit, including some installation work. They will be required to participate in the Estate's on-call rota and undertake essential out of hours on-call duties, as directed.
The successful applicant will already have M&E Building Services experience, be versatile, able to handle conflicting priorities and have the ability to work under pressure. They will be computer literate, have good technical knowledge and ability, with good verbal and written communication skills. They will also possess good interpersonal skills, allowing them to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical personnel, within and beyond the organisation.
