Job summary

Guinness Property is seeking a Multi Skilled Joiner to join our Brighton & Crawley team, delivering responsive repairs and multi‑trade work in social housing. This is a permanent, full‑time role, 40 hours per week, with shifts 8am–7pm Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings on a rota, plus occasional out‑of‑hours callouts.

You must live in the Brighton & Crawley area, hold NVQ Level 3 Joinery/Carpentry, a full UK driving licence, and pass a basic DBS check.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering customer-focused maintenance repairs.
• Capable of recording information accurately and working to procedures.
• Works well with minimal supervision and meets targets.

Responsibilities

• Deliver responsive repairs and general multi-skilled work.

• Participate in an out-of-hours callout rota (additional payment).
• Live within the Brighton & Crawley area to access residents promptly.

Guinness Property provides repairs and maintenance services to The Guinness Partnership. Our national teams deliver rapid-response housing repairs, maintenance, and improvement services to ensure that our residents' homes are safe and maintained to a high standard.

About the role
We are looking for a Multi Skilled Joiner to join our Brighton & Crawley team, delivering responsive repairs and general multi-skilled work. This is a permanent role, working 40 hours per week covering the hours between 8am ? 7pm Monday ? Friday plus Saturday morning. The later shift and Saturday morning working is delivered on a rota basis. The role also includes participation in an out-of-hours callout rota, which comes with an additional payment. To ensure timely access to our residents, the successful candidate must live within the Brighton & Crawley area.

A full UK driving licence is essential. A basic DBS check is required, which will be paid for by Guinness.

Essential requirements of the role

• You must be able to demonstrate competence in joinery, with the ability to carry out various multi-trade tasks such as basic plumbing, tiling, plastering, groundwork, mould washes/treatment and flooring installation.
• Experience of working in a customer-focused environment, ideally within the social housing sector, with a consistent track record of delivering high quality service.
• Proven ability to work methodically, achieve targets, follow agreed procedures and accurately record information.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, demonstrating organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to carry out physical tasks and apply products that remove and treat damp and mould, in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines.
• Ability to operate safely, considering any environmental circumstances and possible risks.

Essential Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 3 (City & Guilds) Joinery/Carpentry Qualification or an equivalent recognised competency in the primary trade.
