Job summary

The Guinness Partnership are seeking a Multi Skilled Joiner to join our Brighton & Crawley team, delivering responsive repairs and general multi-skilled work across housing properties.

This permanent, full-time role is 40 hours per week, with 8am–7pm Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings on a rota; out-of-hours callouts provide additional pay. Applicants must live in the Brighton & Crawley area and hold a full UK driving licence. NVQ Level 3 Joinery/Carpentry is required.

Qualifications

• Competence in joinery with ability to carry out multi-trade tasks.
• Experience in a customer-focused environment, ideally within social housing.
• Full UK driving license essential.
• DBS check will be paid for by employer.

Responsibilities

• Carry out joinery and multi-trade tasks (basic plumbing, tiling, plastering, groundwork, damp treatment, flooring).
• Deliver high-quality, customer-focused repairs across housing properties.
• Record information accurately and follow agreed procedures.
• Work with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
• Participate in out-of-hours callout rota with additional pay.

Guinness Property provides repairs and maintenance services to The Guinness Partnership. Our national teams deliver rapid-response housing repairs, maintenance, and improvement services to ensure that our residents' homes are safe and maintained to a high standard.

About the role

We are looking for a Multi Skilled Joiner to join our Brighton & Crawley team, delivering responsive repairs and general multi-skilled work. This is a permanent role, working 40 hours per week covering the hours between 8am - 7pm Monday - Friday plus Saturday morning. The later shift and Saturday morning working is delivered on a rota basis. The role also includes participation in an out-of-hours callout rota, which comes with an additional payment. To ensure timely access to our residents, the successful candidate must live within the Brighton & Crawley area.

A full UK driving licence is essential. A basic DBS check is required, which will be paid for by Guinness.

Essential requirements of the role

• You must be able to demonstrate competence in joinery, with the ability to carry out various multi-trade tasks such as basic plumbing, tiling, plastering, groundwork, mould washes/treatment and flooring installation.


• Experience of working in a customer-focused environment, ideally within the social housing sector, with a consistent track record of delivering high quality service.


• Proven ability to work methodically, achieve targets, follow agreed procedures and accurately record information.


• Ability to work with minimal supervision, demonstrating organisational and time management skills.


• Ability to carry out physical tasks and apply products that remove and treat damp and mould, in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines.


• Ability to operate safely, considering any environmental circumstances and possible risks.

Essential Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 3 (City & Guilds) Joinery/Carpentry Qualification or an equivalent recognised competency in the primary trade.
