Job summary

Sofina Foods is seeking a driven Multi-Skilled Engineer to support the performance and reliability of our production operations in Malton. You’ll maintain factory plant safely and proactively to keep peak performance and compliance.

This site processes pork products and offers a structured 4 on 4 off night shift (5:30pm–5:30am) with a salary up to £52,000. Join a skilled team focused on safety, lean maintenance, and continuous improvement, contributing to line efficiency and production uptime

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge with cross-discipline capabilities.
• Experience with lean maintenance and TPM is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance across a range of production equipment.
• Ensure all machinery operates efficiently, safely, and in line with regulatory requirements.
• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime and improve line efficiency.
• Uphold best practices in health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Contribute to lean maintenance practices, including TPM and CI tools.

The Role

Sofina Foods is looking for a driven and experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer to support the performance and reliability of our production operations. 4 on 4 off Nights (5:30pm -5:30am)

Your Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance across a range of production equipment
• Ensure all machinery operates efficiently, safely, and in line with regulatory requirements

The Ideal Candidate

• We’re looking for someone with a strong multi skilled background and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
• A recognised NVQ Level 3 qualification in Engineering or equivalent
• Solid electrical and mechanical knowledge with the ability to work across disciplines
• Awareness or certification in Breathing Apparatus and Fire Fighting (desirable)
• A sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation
• Experience with lean manufacturing and TPM methodologies
• A commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
• Food experience working with production equipment such as injectors, thermoformers, slicers, grinders, box/carton formers an advantage.
