Job summary

Sofina Foods is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to lead a skilled maintenance team across our manufacturing site, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient support to operations. You will drive asset reliability, manage downtime data in CMMS, and coordinate a 4 on / 4 off day/night pattern.

Ideal candidates will have NVQ Level 3 in Engineering, strong electrical/mechanical knowledge, and a proven leadership track in FMCG environments, with a focus on continuous improvement and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 qualification in Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge across disciplines.
• Experienced engineering leader from FMCG/food manufacturing.
• Capable of leading teams and managing performance.
• Experience coordinating maintenance activities in manufacturing.
• Skilled in using CMMS and analysing downtime data.
• Knowledgeable across mechanical and electrical engineering.
• Excellent planning and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work 4 on/4 off days and nights rotating shift.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Engineers and an Asset Care Operative.
• Coordinate reactive, preventative and planned maintenance activities.
• Drive equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support fault finding, root cause analysis and long-term corrective actions.
• Ensure accurate engineering downtime reporting and CMMS data management.
• Work with Production, Hygiene and site teams to minimise disruption.
• Maintain compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety and engineering standards.
• Deputise for the Engineering Manager when required.

Lead engineering performance, develop people and drive reliability across high-performing manufacturing sites.

Role Overview:

As an Engineering Supervisor, you'll play a key role in leading a skilled engineering team, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient support to our manufacturing operations. Working a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (2 days, 2 nights), you'll coordinate engineering activities, drive asset reliability and help deliver operational excellence across our primary site while providing support to an additional site when required.

Key Duties:

You will:

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Engineers and an Asset Care Operative.

The Ideal Candidate:

We're looking for someone with a proactive approach, strong technical capability and a commitment to delivering high standards.

You'll ideally have:

• A recognised NVQ Level 3 qualification in Engineering, or equivalent
• Strong electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge with the ability to work across multiple disciplines
• An experienced engineering leader from FMCG, food manufacturing or a fast-paced production environment.
• Confident leading teams, managing performance and developing engineering capability.
• Experienced in coordinating maintenance activities within a manufacturing setting.
• Skilled in using CMMS systems and analysing downtime data to improve performance.
• Knowledgeable across both mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines.
• A strong communicator with excellent planning and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work a rotating 4 on / 4 off days and nights shift pattern.
