Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer - Electrical Bias for an on-site Derby role supporting Rolls-Royce. The position focuses on maintaining low voltage electrical systems and ensuring reliable, compliant facilities services.

You will work within a team to troubleshoot and repair electrical infrastructure, perform regular inspections, and contribute to safe, efficient building operations in a demanding industrial/commercial setting.

Qualifications

  • Experience designing, installing and maintaining electrical systems in commercial/industrial settings.
  • Strong focus on health, safety and regulatory compliance in maintenance tasks.
  • Qualification in electrical installation and inspection is required.
  • Good communication and organisation skills, with willingness to work out of hours when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair low voltage electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, security, emergency lighting and access control.
  • Perform regular testing and inspections to ensure compliance and accurate reporting.
  • Identify, diagnose and repair faults in low voltage systems and carry out replacements as necessary.
  • Execute preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend system life; maintain maintenance schedules.
  • Document all work, logs, inspections, work orders and equipment inventory; support site safety and regulatory compliance.

Multi Skilled Engineer - Electrical Bias Based: Derby (On site at Rolls‑Royce) Hours: 40hrs Monday - Friday

What this job involves

As an Multi Skilled Engineer – Electrical Bias at JLL, you’ll be part of a team that’s shaping a brighter way for our client Rolls‑Royce and fellow employees. You’ll apply your expertise to design, install, and maintain electrical systems in various commercial and industrial settings. What your day‑to‑day will look like
  • Maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of low voltage electrical systems, including but not limited to lighting, power distribution, fire alarm systems, security systems, emergency lighting, and access control.
  • Testing and Inspection: Conduct regular testing and inspection of low voltage electrical systems to ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and relevant codes. Complete necessary documentation and reports accurately.
  • Fault Diagnosis and Repair: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve faults in low voltage electrical systems, using appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques. Carry out repairs and replacements as necessary to ensure uninterrupted functionality.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Carry out planned preventive maintenance tasks to minimize equipment downtime, increase system reliability, and extend the lifespan of low voltage electrical systems. Create and maintain maintenance schedules.
  • Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures. Comply with electrical regulations, codes, and standards to ensure safety and minimize risks. Report any hazards or incidents promptly.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other team members, contractors, and clients to achieve project goals and customer satisfaction. Provide guidance and support to junior team members when required.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, work orders, and equipment inventory. Ensure that relevant documentation and records are up to date.
Requirements
  • C&G Level 2 and 3 Diploma Electrical Installation (Or Equivalent)
  • C&G 2360 Parts 1 & 2 (Test & Inspection cert preferred)
  • 18th edition
  • Strong Electrical & HVAC experience
  • Knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems
  • Knowledge of building fabric and experience in carrying out basic fabric reactive repairs when required
  • Sound understanding and experience of meeting Health & Safety obligations about maintenance activities
  • Must be prepared to work out of hours when required
  • On call one in five weeks (allowance paid), JLL transport provided
  • Have good communication and organisation skills
  • Have a positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • Must have a full UK driving license
  • Ability to work on own or as part of a team
