Job summary

Calibre Search is seeking a capable Multi Skilled Engineer to join a static Coalville site, Monday–Friday, on-site maintenance across building services with a focus on HVAC systems. You will diagnose faults, perform repairs, and maintain plant while keeping safety and documentation up to date.

The role requires F-Gas qualification, VRV/VRF experience, and strong mechanical/electrical maintenance skills. Excellent stability and a clear progression path are on offer.

Qualifications

• Solid background in HVAC or air conditioning maintenance.
• Current F-Gas qualification with practical refrigerant handling experience.
• Experience working on VRV/VRF systems.
• Good mechanical maintenance knowledge.
• Ability to undertake basic electrical maintenance and fault finding.

Responsibilities

• Completing scheduled PPM, reactive maintenance and remedial works across the site.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on VRV and VRF air conditioning systems.
• Maintaining HVAC plant and associated mechanical equipment.
• Working safely with refrigerants in line with current F-Gas legislation.
• Supporting electrical and general mechanical maintenance where required.
• Using BMS controls to monitor plant operation and performance.
• Investigating recurring faults and identifying improvements for reliability.
• Carrying out inspections and updating maintenance records.

Multi Skilled Engineer

Location: Coalville Salary: Circa £40,000 per annum Monday to Friday | Days | Static Site

A stable, varied engineering role with no mobile working

Are you an experienced engineer with a strong air conditioning/HVAC background, an F-Gas qualification and the ability to turn your hand to wider mechanical and electrical maintenance?

An opportunity is available for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join a well-established facilities management operation at a prestigious site in Coalville.

This is a static, Monday-to-Friday position, making it an ideal move for an engineer who enjoys varied maintenance work but is looking to step away from the demands of a mobile role and achieve a better work-life balance.

You’ll become an important part of the on-site engineering team, responsible for keeping the building, plant and associated services operating safely and reliably.

The role

Your day-to-day responsibilities will cover a broad range of building services maintenance, with HVAC and air conditioning forming a key part of the position.

You will be responsible for:

• Completing scheduled PPM, reactive maintenance and remedial works across the site.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on VRV and VRF air conditioning systems.
• Maintaining HVAC plant and associated mechanical equipment.
• Working safely with refrigerants in line with current F-Gas legislation.
• Supporting electrical and general mechanical maintenance where required.
• Using BMS controls to monitor plant operation, identify issues and maintain efficient building performance.
• Investigating recurring faults and helping identify ways to improve equipment reliability.
• Carrying out inspections and highlighting any defects, risks or maintenance requirements.
• Completing permits, RAMS, risk assessments and other site documentation.
• Updating maintenance records through the site's CAFM/mobile reporting system.
• Working alongside the site-based management team to maintain high service standards.
• Providing occasional out-of-hours support as part of the on-call arrangement.

About you

The successful candidate will be a practical, experienced engineer who is comfortable working independently while also contributing to a wider site team.

You’ll ideally bring:

• A solid background in HVAC or air conditioning maintenance.
• A current F-Gas qualification with practical refrigerant-handling experience.
• Experience working on VRV/VRF systems.
• Good mechanical maintenance knowledge.
• The ability to undertake basic electrical maintenance and fault finding.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant mechanical/HVAC qualifications, ideally City & Guilds or equivalent.
• A professional approach to health & safety and site compliance.
