Job summary

2 Sisters Food Group in Thetford is recruiting a Multi Skilled Engineer with an electrical bias for a breaded/coated product centre of excellence. The role operates on a 4 on/4 off pattern (4 days, 4 nights) and aims to keep lines running, with a strong focus on safety and quality.

The successful candidate will perform reactive and planned maintenance, document work in the CMMS, and support the Operations team to hit production targets.

Qualifications

• Accredited engineering qualification and electrical NVQ Level 3 or higher.
• Experience in a food manufacturing or fast-paced industrial environment.
• Strong fault-finding in mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience in reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance.
• Good health and safety knowledge.
• Basic computer skills (MS Word and Excel).
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Food Safety Level 2+ desirable.

Responsibilities

• Attend planned maintenance windows; ensure equipment is fit for purpose and production ready.
• Respond to breakdowns promptly, delivering the engineering promise.
• Support Operations to meet production targets.
• Carry out reactive and proactive mechanical and electrical maintenance.
• Document all work in the CMMS and log time against assets.
• Identify, request and follow up on parts required for further work.
• Maintain stock holdings through accurate parts scanning.
• Attend engineering handovers and respond promptly to radio calls.

About the Role

Our Thetford site is a breaded and coated product centre of excellence within the UK Poultry (Added Value) division. Our Thetford operation is a breaded/coated product centre of excellence. As a value added, non-kill site we have no live animals or butchery onsite.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend planned maintenance windows, ensuring equipment is fit for purpose and production ready

About You

You will be an experienced Multi Skilled Engineer with an electrical bias, comfortable working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You'll be proactive, disciplined, and able to act with pace while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key Skills / Qualifications

• Accredited engineering qualification
• Electrical qualification to NVQ Level 3 minimum
• Experience working in a food manufacturing or fast-paced industrial environment
• Strong fault-finding skills in mechanical and electrical systems
• Experience in reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance
• Good health & safety knowledge and awareness
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel)
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Food Safety Level 2 or higher desirable
