About Natures Way Foods

Natures Way Foods began in 1994, when the Langmead brothers set up a small, bagged salad operation. Their big idea was to combine the freshest lettuce with the latest food manufacturing technology. Since then, we've grown by expanding our customer base and moving into new fresh, convenient categories and product areas.

Responsibilities

Reporting to our Engineering Manager, you will be part of a team managing and maintaining some of the latest production technology in the food industry.

We operate a rotational shift pattern covering 6am to 6pm, including days and nights, totaling 14 days over a 28-day cycle.

Shift schedule:

  • Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday
  • Week 2 - Wednesday & Thursday

Key responsibilities include:

  • Day-to-day maintenance and improvement of plant, assets, and services
  • Effective use of engineering systems and processes
  • Timely and accurate communication with stakeholders
  • Ensuring all work complies with food safety and health & safety standards
  • Completing PPM tasks and improving maintenance practices
  • Diagnosing and repairing equipment faults promptly
  • Championing health and safety, maintaining a safe working environment
  • Identifying and eliminating faulty processes with long-term solutions
  • Upholding product quality and GMP standards
  • Acting as shift go-to person and communicating effectively
  • Managing budget and stock control, maintaining high-quality shift documentation
  • Ensuring safety of buildings, plant, and equipment
  • Completing shift metrics and escalating issues as needed

Skills & Experience
  • FMCG/manufacturing experience (desirable)
  • Electrical knowledge and fault-finding skills
  • Relevant engineering qualifications
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement
  • Strong communication skills at all business levels
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Ability to balance daily tasks with planning
  • IT literacy and experience with CMMS and production equipment
  • Recognised electrical qualification (excluding 17th edition)
