Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Technician to join our client's team.
Their Brewery in Manchester consists of, but is not limited to, a boiler, compressors, pumps, cask and keg packaging lines, CIP sets, grain handling systems, and a variety of push button and SCADA control systems. They have been on the same site since 1860 and have old technology next to new but are not afraid to update and modernise when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

They are looking for a multi-skilled engineer (preferably electrical bias) to work in their brewery and packaging lines.

1. You will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on site, either directly or with the assistance of contractors.
2. You will be part of the maintenance team on site.
3. Process optimisation and improvements will be key.
4. You will take part in routine, planned and preventative maintenance for the site and be required to keep records for the brewery.
5. There will be some project work and Capex opportunities.
6. Working hours are flexible with 45 hours per week Mon-Fri.

The Successful Candidate:

1. Necessary trade qualifications (NVQ, Apprenticeship, HNC, 18th edition) preferably with an electrical bias.
2. Self-motivated, driven, willing to challenge and improve, and have a good work ethic.
3. Some experience of work on SCADA systems / PLCs is beneficial, but not essential.
4. Good communication skills and the ability to deal with multiple stakeholders.
5. Highly organised, motivated with a positive attitude.
6. Enjoy working within a small friendly team.
7. You will report into the Head Brewer and work closely with the brewers on site.
