Position Details

Position: Multi Skilled Engineer - Mechanical Bias
Location: On site at Rolls-Royce Derby
Hours: 40 hrs Monday to Friday

Position Summary

We are seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer with a mechanical engineering bias to work across the commercial offices for Rolls Royce in Derby. You will be responsible for maintaining all PPMs and reactive works related to plumbing services across these locations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operate and monitor mechanical systems, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
2. Conduct regular inspections of plumbing equipment to assess performance and identify issues.
3. Monitor and adjust controls, such as water level, pressure, and temperature, to maintain optimal conditions.
4. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.

Preventive Maintenance and Repairs

1. Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans.
2. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts.
3. Diagnose and troubleshoot boiler malfunctions and breakdowns.
4. Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and equipment installations.

Efficiency Enhancement

1. Analyse system data to identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements.
2. Recommend and implement measures to optimize performance and reduce energy consumption.
3. Install and upgrade controls, instrumentation, and monitoring systems as required.

Documentation and Reporting

1. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
2. Generate reports on performance, maintenance schedules, and energy consumption.
3. Collaborate with facility management teams for effective communication and timely reporting.

Qualifications and Skills

1. Experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Plumber, or similar role.
2. Strong knowledge of plumbing maintenance and repair techniques.
3. Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., HSE, Pressure Systems Safety Regulations).
4. Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
5. Proficiency in interpreting data and performance metrics.
6. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Education and Certifications

Relevant certifications in Plumbing or Mechanical operations and maintenance (e.g., City and Guilds Level 2 or 3).
