Job summary

NMS Recruit Ltd t/a Russell Taylor Group is seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer for our client in Malton, North Yorkshire. The role focuses on maintaining and improving plant performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with emphasis on electrical and/or mechanical maintenance and fault finding.

You will perform planned preventive maintenance, respond to breakdowns, implement effective solutions, and work with production teams to drive reliability, safety, and continuous improvement,

Qualifications

• Qualified engineer with experience in high-volume manufacturing.
• Strong background in electrical and/or mechanical maintenance.
• Excellent fault-finding skills and proactive problem solving.
• Ability to work independently in a pressurised environment.
• Experience with planned preventive maintenance systems and PLC controls is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve plant performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Carry out planned preventive maintenance and respond to equipment breakdowns.
• Fault finding and implementing engineering solutions to minimise downtime.
• Work with production and operational teams to support reliability, efficiency, safety and continuous improvement.
• Utilise CMMS to manage maintenance activities and assist with equipment modifications and installations.

Role

As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving plant performance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities will include carrying out planned preventive maintenance, responding to equipment breakdowns, fault finding, and implementing effective engineering solutions to minimise downtime. You will work closely with production and operational teams to support reliability, efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives across site. The role will also involve using a CMMS system to manage maintenance activities, contributing to equipment modifications and installations, and ensuring compliance with all relevant engineering, quality, and safety standards.

Person

The successful candidate will be a qualified engineer with previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment and a strong background in electrical and/or mechanical maintenance. You should possess excellent fault-finding skills, a proactive approach to problem solving, and the ability to work independently in a pressurised environment. Experience with planned preventive maintenance systems and controls/PLC knowledge would be advantageous. Strong organisational skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to health, safety, and continuous improvement are essential.
