Job summary

Office Angels in Folkestone, Kent is seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer to drive site performance and the maintenance of production equipment. You will execute maintenance tasks, support new projects and help improve safety and quality across the plant.

The role requires mechanical and electrical qualifications, PLC/robotics troubleshooting, and experience with processing and packaging machinery, plus knowledge of SMED and Lean Six Sigma basics.

Qualifications

• Experience with processing and packaging machinery.
• Mechanical and electrical qualifications (City & Guilds or NVQ L3).
• Troubleshooting PLC and robotics issues.
• Reactive, planned, preventative and predictive maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement and SMED projects.
• Lean Six Sigma yellow or green belt ideal.

Responsibilities

• Drive site performance (OEE) and support new project initiatives.
• Maintain and repair all production and plant equipment with focus on continuous improvement.
• Execute maintenance procedures and prioritise tasks per plant needs and production schedules.
• Conduct checks and tests on plant machinery to meet specifications.
• Uphold Health, Safety and Quality procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
• Comply with Corporate, H&S and Environmental standards including IE E Wiring Regulations.
• Assist in training others and develop training plans with management.
• Communicate updates and insights on equipment performance with engineering teams.

Location: Folkestone, Kent

Hours: Monday -Thursday 8-5 and Friday 8-4 shift 42 hours a week with a 30-minute lunch break

Are you an enthusiastic and skilled engineer ready to take on an exciting challenge? Join our team as a Multi-Skilled Engineer and play a crucial role in driving the performance and efficiency of our engineering operations!

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Drive site performance (OEE) and support new project initiatives.
• Ensure the maintenance and repair of all production and plant equipment, focusing on continuous improvement.
• Execute maintenance procedures and prioritise tasks according to plant needs and production schedules.
• Conduct regular checks and tests on all plant machinery to maintain operational specifications.
• Uphold Health and Safety and Quality procedures, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
• Comply with Corporate, Health and Safety, and Environmental standards, including the 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
• Assist in training others in key skills and develop training plans in collaboration with management.
• Communicate effectively with engineering teams, sharing updates and insights on equipment performance.

What You Bring to the Table

• Extensive experience with processing and packaging machinery.
• Mechanical and electrical qualifications (City & Guilds or NVQ L3 equivalent)
• A knack for troubleshooting and resolving PLC and robotic issues.
• Proven experience in reactive, planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance.
• A working knowledge of Continuous Improvement and SMED projects.
• Basic Lean Six Sigma qualifications (yellow or green belt) are ideal.
