Job summary

MorePeople are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical bias to join a fast-paced manufacturing operation in Coventry.

The role focuses on reactive maintenance, fault-finding and keeping production equipment running smoothly. You will work on nights (3 on, 3 off) and contribute to increasing automation and reliability of machinery.

Qualifications

• Experience in a maintenance engineering role within manufacturing or similar industrial environments.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with reactive maintenance and breakdown response.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer - Electrically Biased (Nights)

Location: Coventry
Salary: £55k
Shift Pattern: 3 on, 3 off - Nights

I'm currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical bias to join a well-established, fast-paced manufacturing operation in Coventry.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a business investing in automation, where electrical fault-finding and engineering expertise are becoming increasingly important to the site's ongoing development.

The business is open to engineers from a variety of manufacturing and industrial backgrounds, particularly those with strong electrical maintenance skills and experience working in automated environments.

The Role

Working as part of an established engineering team, you'll be responsible for maintaining production equipment, responding to breakdowns and helping minimise downtime across the site.

The position is primarily reactive, making it ideal for an engineer who enjoys fault-finding, problem-solving and getting machinery back up and running efficiently.

As the site becomes increasingly automated, the successful candidate will play an important role in diagnosing electrical faults and supporting the reliability of production equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Responding to breakdowns and carrying out reactive maintenance across production machinery.

• Diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults.

• Supporting the reliability and availability of increasingly automated equipment.

• Carrying out fault-finding to minimise downtime and disruption to production.

• Working collaboratively with production teams and fellow engineers to resolve issues efficiently.

• Maintaining safe working practices and following site engineering procedures.

About You

We're looking for a hands-on, multi-skilled maintenance engineer with a strong electrical bias who is confident fault-finding in a busy production environment.

You'll ideally have:

• Experience in a maintenance engineering role within manufacturing, production, FMCG, food production or a similar industrial environment.

• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

• A good working knowledge of mechanical maintenance.

• Experience responding to breakdowns and reactive maintenance.

• The ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.

• A proactive approach to problem-solving and equipment reliability.
