Job summary

CV Technical in Barnsley seeks an Electrical Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to maintain production machinery and site services on a 3 on/3 off days and nights shift. The role offers a starting salary of £45,000, rising to £49,050 after probation, and a permanent, full-time contract.

The successful candidate will have Level 3 Electrical/Maintenance Engineering qualifications, strong fault-finding skills, and a proactive approach to equipment reliability within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Electrical/Maintenance Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in manufacturing/industrial maintenance.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good mechanical maintenance knowledge.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with planned and reactive maintenance.
• Proactive fault identification and resolution.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Willing to work a 3 on/3 off days and nights.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• Fault-find using schematics, drawings and test equipment.
• Identify recurring faults and support continuous improvement.
• Work safely and maintain maintenance records.
• Support breakdown response and return machinery to production quickly.
• Assist with installation and modification of equipment.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve reliability.

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Barnsley.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across a range of production machinery and site services.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise production downtime.
• Fault-find using electrical schematics, drawings and test equipment.
• Identify recurring faults and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work safely and ensure all maintenance activities comply with company procedures.
• Complete maintenance records and documentation accurately.
• Support breakdown response and ensure machinery is returned to production as quickly and safely as possible.
• Assist with installation, modification and improvement of equipment where required.
• Work closely with production and engineering colleagues to maintain high levels of plant reliability.

About You

• A recognised Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering / Maintenance Engineering or equivalent.
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good mechanical maintenance knowledge.
• The ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with planned and reactive maintenance.
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving faults.
• The ability to work independently and as part of an engineering team.
• Flexibility to work a 3 on / 3 off days and nights shift pattern.
