Job summary

The One Group is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer for a busy, highly automated manufacturing site in St Neots. This hands-on role covers breakdowns, PMs, fault finding and improvements across a modern production environment.

You'll work across electrical and mechanical disciplines, maintaining PLC-driven equipment, supporting new installations, and collaborating with production teams to reduce downtime and boost OEE. Excellent progression opportunities and benefits on offer.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical fault-finding skills and knowledge.
• Good mechanical engineering knowledge.
• Experience maintaining automated or production machinery.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Work with PLCs, contactors, relays and safety circuits.
• Dismantle, repair and reassemble production equipment.
• Identify improvements to reliability and efficiency.
• Support installation & commissioning of new machinery.
• Collaborate with production teams to reduce downtime and improve OEE.
• Complete maintenance and breakdown reports; work with contractors.
• Fabrication and general engineering tasks as needed.
• Support a continuous improvement culture.

£56,000 + benefits | Days & Nights | St Neots

I'm looking for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join a busy, highly automated manufacturing site in the St Neots area.

This is a proper hands-on engineering role. You'll be working across a modern production environment, dealing with everything from breakdowns and planned maintenance through to fault finding, improvements and new equipment.

Day to day role:

• Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Working with PLCs, contactors, relays and safety circuits
• Dismantling, repairing and reassembling production equipment
• Identifying ways to improve equipment reliability and efficiency
• Supporting installation and commissioning of new machinery
• Working closely with production teams to reduce downtime and improve OEE
• Completing maintenance and breakdown reportsWorking with contractors and other technical teams when required
• Fabrication and general engineering work where needed
• Supporting a strong continuous improvement culture

Ideally, you'll have:

• NVQ Level 3 or higher
• Strong electrical fault-finding skills
• Good mechanical engineering knowledge
• Experience maintaining automated or production machinery preferable
• Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• The ability to work independently but also as part of a wider engineering team
