Job summary

STEM Recruitment Solutions is supporting a well-established manufacturing business in Bannockburn seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer to maintain production equipment and respond to faults promptly. The role covers electrical and mechanical maintenance, planned preventative and reactive work across PLCs, VFDs, motors, hydraulics and pneumatics, with on-call support and two shift patterns (days and backshift).

Qualifications

• Experience in a multi-skilled engineering role.
• Production/manufacturing environment experience; food manufacturing or packaging preferred.
• Experience with planned preventative and breakdown maintenance.
• Working knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• An engineering apprenticeship or equivalent formal training.
• Practical fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.

The Opportunity

STEM Recruitment Solutions are supporting a well-established manufacturing business with the appointment of a Multi Skilled Engineer. This is a hands-on maintenance position covering a mix of electrical and mechanical engineering, with responsibility for keeping production equipment running reliably and responding to faults when they arise.

The Role

• Planned and reactive maintenance across production machinery.
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs.
• Working with PLCs, VFDs, motors, hydraulics and pneumatics and more.
• Supporting equipment installation and engineering improvement projects.
• Working closely with production to coordinate maintenance and reduce downtime.
• Managing and working alongside external contractors where required.
• Keeping maintenance and breakdown records up to date.
• Supporting site health, safety and food safety standards.
• Providing on-call engineering support when required.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in a multi-skilled engineering role.
• Previous experience in a production / manufacturing environment – food manufacturing or packaging preferred
• Experience with planned preventative and breakdown maintenance.
• Working knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• An engineering apprenticeship or equivalent formal training.
• A practical approach to fault finding and problem solving.

Working pattern:

• Dayshift and Backshift
• Dayshift 6:00am–3:00pm
• Backshift 2:00pm–10:30pm
• On-call support.
