Job summary

The Wonderfield Group is seeking a multi-skilled maintenance engineer for the Taiko Acton site. This full-time role is 42 hours per week, with a 4 on 4 off pattern (days and nights) and rotation through a fast-paced FMCG environment.

You will diagnose faults across mechanical and electrical systems, read drawings, support PLCs/HMIs, and drive improvements to OEE and MTTR while ensuring health, safety and food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Multi-skilled engineer with mechanical and electrical expertise.
• FMCG or food manufacturing experience preferred.
• Able to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience managing contractors and cross-department collaboration.
• Health & Safety and basic Food Hygiene awareness.
• Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
• Willing to work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (days and nights).
• Comfortable working in varied environments (freezer, boiler room, heights).

Responsibilities

• Deliver maintenance for plant performance through planned, preventive and predictive work.
• Diagnose and repair faults across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Maintain and improve OEE, MTTR and equipment reliability.
• Carry out routine inspections; minimise downtime across site.
• Maintain machinery including motors, conveyors, pumps and gearboxes.
• Support electrical systems, including panels, controls and sensors.
• Work with PLCs and HMIs to troubleshoot and enhance automation.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and food safety standards.
• Conduct audits and inspections; safely remove defective equipment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS (Shire/Pirana).
• Collaborate across shifts and manage on-site contractors.
• Drive continuous improvement and reduce waste of time, materials and resources.

About You:

• Multi-skilled engineer with strong mechanical expertise and electrical knowledge
• Experience within FMCG or food manufacturing environments
