Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment is seeking two experienced Multi Skilled Electricians for our maintenance service in Salford and Greater Manchester on a 3-month temporary contract with potential for permanency. You will work in customer homes and communal areas, performing electrical fittings and fault diagnosis.

Candidates must hold NVQ Level 3 and 18th Edition certification, have at least 3 years’ experience, a full UK driving licence, and be able to work independently using a PDA/tablet.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Certification in 18th Edition Wiring Regulations required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Full clean UK driving licence required.
• Experience with PDA/tablet for job management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repair and replace electrical fittings and diagnose faults.
• Rewire properties including 1st and 2nd fix work.
• Adhere to 18th Edition Regulations and BS:7671 certs.
• Participate in out-of-hours call-out rota with additional pay.
• Work in Salford and Greater Manchester customer homes and communal areas.

Job description

Multi Skilled Electrician

Contract Type: Temporary (3 months with potential for permanent)
Location: Salford and Greater Manchester
Salary: Approximately £37,000 per annum

We are seeking two experienced Multi Skilled Electricians to join our internal maintenance service team. This is a temporary position for 3 months, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role. You will be working in customer homes and communal areas across Salford and Greater Manchester.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Work Monday to Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:15 PM, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
• Repair and replace electrical fittings, diagnose and rectify electrical faults.
• Rewire properties including both 1st and 2nd fix.
• Adhere to the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and complete relevant certification to BS: 7671 including EICR, Minor Works, and Installation certificates.
• Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota, which is compensated in addition to the basic salary.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Certification in 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Full clean UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and manage work through a PDA/tablet.
• Previous experience in social housing (beneficial but not essential).
