We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Electrical Engineer to carry out scheduled inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance, repairs, testing, calibration and fault-finding on assigned electrical equipment.
The successful candidate will work in accordance with electrical standards, diagrams, operating manuals and manufacturer maintenance instructions, ensuring all work is completed accurately and safely.
We are looking for a professional who can also support wider building services maintenance activities, including minor fabric repairs, basic HVAC tasks and mechanical support.
The role requires effective coordination with clients, managers and contractors, while maintaining high standards of health and safety, compliance and service delivery.
Perform planned and reactive maintenance, repairs, adjustments, testing and fault diagnosis on electrical systems and equipment.
Inspect, monitor and troubleshoot electrical installations, replacing defective components and verifying calibration and compliance.
Carry out additional building services maintenance, including minor fabric repairs, basic HVAC tasks and mechanical support activities.
Test and calibrate systems using appropriate precision instruments to ensure correct operation.
Plan and prioritise work effectively, selecting suitable methods, materials and techniques.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders and material requirements, including procurement of necessary supplies.
Coordinate with clients, managers and contractors, issuing permits and overseeing contractor activities where required.
Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, including risk assessments, method statements, COSHH requirements and the prompt escalation of major faults or safety concerns.
Previous experience diagnosing electrical faults, carrying out repairs, installations and inspection/testing activities.
Demonstrable experience delivering both reactive and planned preventative maintenance.
Previous experience working within facilities management or building services environments within commercial properties.
Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, including the practical application of risk assessments and method statements.
Ability to communicate technical and operational information clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to remain resilient under pressure, adapt to changing priorities and manage ambiguity effectively.
Strong organisational, time management and record-keeping skills.
Experience identifying opportunities to improve system performance, maintenance processes and service delivery.
Applicants must hold one of the following:
City & Guilds 2365 or 2357 Level 3, plus NVQ 2356 with AM2; or
City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 in Electrical Installation, plus NVQ 2356 with AM2; or
City & Guilds 236/2360 in Electrical Installations Part 1 & 2.
City & Guilds 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018), preferably including the A2 amendment.
Full UK driving licence required (company van provided).
