Job summary

SER Limited is seeking a Multi-Skilled CNC Service Engineer to service, maintain and repair a wide range of CNC machine tools across the UK, with a South West base and opportunities for nationwide travel.

You will diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, perform planned preventative maintenance, and support installations, calibrations, and machine alignments at customer sites. A field-based role requiring independent work and strong technical skills.

Qualifications

• Experience as a CNC Service Engineer servicing CNC machine tools.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience working on CNC machines from DMG Mori, Mazak, Hurco, Haas.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair CNC machine tools.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Ball bar testing and analysis.
• Ball screw inspection, replacement and alignment.
• Turret alignment and machine accuracy adjustments.
• Gearbox repairs and replacements.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic fault finding and repairs.

Location:South West, UK based (Possible Nationwide Travel)

Salary: £45,000 - £48,000 Basic + OT

A well-established CNC machine tool service provider is looking to recruit a Multi-Skilled CNC Service Engineer to support customers across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business.

The Role

As a CNC Service Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, fault finding and repairing a wide range of CNC machine tools at customer sites. You will work on both mechanical and electrical issues, supporting customers with breakdowns, preventative maintenance, machine alignments and installations.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair CNC machine tools.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Ball bar testing and analysis.
• Ball screw inspection, replacement and alignment.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience as a CNC Service Engineer
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience working on CNC machine tools including: DMG Mori, Mazak, Hurco, Haas
• CNC control systems including:Fanuc/Siemens/Heidenhain
• Ability to work independently at customer sites.
