Contract: 3 Month Contract (Temporary to Permanent Opportunity)
Hours: 36 Hours Per Week (excluding 1-hour unpaid lunch break)
Camden Facilities Management is on the lookout for a seasoned Multi‑Skilled Building Services Engineer with a focus on mechanical and commercial plumbing. This role involves maintaining a variety of facilities, including schools, children's centres, community buildings, and corporate properties throughout the borough. The engineer will be responsible for conducting planned preventative maintenance, addressing reactive repairs, diagnosing faults, and performing minor installations to ensure all building services systems are safe and efficient. Additionally, the role includes mentoring a plumbing apprentice for about three days a week, offering a rewarding opportunity for those passionate about guiding and nurturing talent.
Ideal for candidates with backgrounds as a Mechanical Engineer, Plumbing Engineer, Building Services Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Commercial Plumber, M&E Engineer, Facilities Engineer, or Multi‑Skilled Engineer.
Essential Requirements NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in: Plumbing Mechanical Engineering Building Services Engineering Significant experience in commercial plumbing and mechanical maintenance. Experience maintaining: Heating systems Pumps Pressurisation units Expansion vessels Calorifiers Mechanical plant equipment Experience delivering both planned and reactive maintenance. Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills. Experience working independently within occupied buildings. Ability to use CAFM systems and mobile technology. Full UK Driving Licence. Willingness and ability to mentor apprentices. Desirable Requirements Unvented Hot Water Qualification. Water Hygiene or Legionella Awareness Training. Basic Electrical Fault‑Finding Knowledge. BMS Awareness. HVAC and AHU Maintenance Experience. Booster Pump Maintenance Experience. Water Treatment Knowledge. Asbestos Awareness Training. IPAF or PASMA Certification. First Aid Qualification.
