Job summary

Platform Housing Group is seeking an experienced Painter and Decorator to join our repairs and maintenance team in the Birmingham area, delivering high-quality painting, staining blocking and decorating tasks in residents' homes. You will be expected to work autonomously or as part of a busy team, with an apprenticeship or City & Guilds in Painting and Decorating, a valid driving licence, and a DBS check.

Calling all experienced Multi Skill Trades Painter and Decorators -

We are looking for an experienced Painter and Decorator to join our talented and busy repairs and maintenance team and help maintain our homes in Birmingham area.

What could you be doing?

Putting the finishing touches to our properties, you will be an important part of a busy team delivering repairs and maintenance. You will support our team with a range of responsive painting and decorating tasks, including stain blocking, as well as helping to prepare and return Empty Properties to the required Lettable Standards.

With a passion for detail, you will have the ability to work on your own initiative. If you also have additional trade skills, particularly experience in tiling, we'd really like to hear from you!

You'll be working in people's homes, so you'll need to be friendly and approachable with good communication and customer service skills. You'll also need to be organised and recognise the importance of delivering work right first time.

Some things we need from you:

• You will have served an apprenticeship in Painting and Decorating or obtained an equivalent City & Guilds qualification
• Extensive time served in Painting, Decorating and associated trade skills
• Good organisational skills
• Experience of keeping jobs on track
• Takes ownership, responsibility for their tasks and has a right first-time approach
• Works well alone but also as part of a team
• The drive to ensure works are completed quickly and efficientlywhilst meeting strict deadlines
• Full current validdriving Licenceessential as this is a mobile role
• As you will be working in customers' homes you will need a DBS check.

This role is for a team based in Birminghham so you will need to live within this area.
