Job summary

Vertas is seeking a Mobile School Chef to join our catering team across Arnold and surrounding areas. This role is 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 1:00pm, 39.2 weeks per year, with travel between sites as required.

You will lead kitchen operations, prepare nutritious meals, supervise catering colleagues, and ensure high standards of food safety and service across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in a catering environment with supervisory/management responsibilities.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and Health & Safety practices.
• Willingness to travel between multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals in line with menu specifications.
• Manage day-to-day kitchen operations across multiple sites.
• Supervise and support catering colleagues.
• Monitor food safety, hygiene and Health & Safety requirements.
• Manage stock levels, orders and minimise waste.
• Maintain records in line with company procedures.
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness and food quality.
• Provide cover across catering operations when required.
