Job summary

Care & Support Services is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our team across multiple homes in the West Midlands, including Birmingham and surrounding areas. You will help provide stable, therapeutic care and practical support to young people, ensuring safety and readiness for placement.

You'll work flexibly across sites, supporting routines, safeguarding, and risk management while collaborating with leadership to cover gaps in placement and maintain a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

Experience in residential childcare or similar settings.
Trauma-informed and emotionally resilient approach.
Understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and working with complex behaviours.
Driver preferred due to multi-site coverage.
Flexible availability including sleep-ins, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality emotional and practical support to young people once placed.
Assist in keeping the home compliant and placement-ready.
Work across multiple homes (Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Cannock, Wednesbury) as needed.
Help embed routines, therapeutic approaches, and positive communication.
Support the homes' leadership team during gaps in placement or low staffing.
Promote a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for all young people.
