Job summary

STEP Academy Trust is seeking a proactive Multi Site Manager to oversee busy academies in Havens or Hailsham, East Sussex. You will lead a team of premises staff, coordinate with contractors and suppliers, and ensure a safe, well-maintained environment for students and staff.

The Successful Candidate will demonstrate strong experience in site management, health & safety, and multi-site operations, with excellent communication to all stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate experience in managing staff (e.g., cleaners).
  • Proven track record in caretaker/site manager roles or similar.
  • Experience liaising with contractors and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of cleaning materials/methods/appliances and monitoring quality of work.
  • Solid understanding of health & safety requirements in academies or public institutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication across the academy community.
  • Awareness of security measures for buildings and grounds.
  • Ability to work in a team or independently as required.
  • Capacity to manage multiple sites effectively.
  • Ability to lead and motivate staff.
  • Willingness to train and progress within the Trust.
  • Commitment to the Trust’s equalities policies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee premises, facilities and estates across Havens/Hailsham sites.
  • Lead and manage Premises & Estates team and cleaners.
  • Monitor contractors and suppliers for quality and timeliness.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance across sites.

We are looking to appoint a full time Multi Site Manager for our busy, vibrant academies in the Havens or Hailsham areas of East Sussex.

The Successful Candidate Must
  • Experience of managing staff (for example cleaners)
  • Previous experience in a successful caretaker/ site manager position (or similar)
  • Experience of monitoring and liaising with contractors and suppliers
  • Experience of current cleaning materials/methods/appliances and monitoring the quality of work undertaken by the academy cleaning staff
  • A working knowledge and understanding of health & safety requirements of an academy or other public institution
  • Have suitable communication skills to all sections of the academy community both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrate knowledge of security methodology for both building and grounds
  • Ability to operate as part of a team or individually as required.
  • Be able to manage multiple sites.
  • Be able to lead and motivate staff.
  • Perform light maintenance and repairs.
  • Demonstrate a willingness and enthusiasm for training and progression.
  • Display a commitment to the Trust’s equalities policies.
