Job summary

South Coast Nursing Homes Ltd is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to manage a skilled team across multiple care homes in Worthing. You will perform repairs in plumbing, electrical, carpentry and more, ensuring safety, quality and efficient operations in a resident-focused environment.

The role requires 3-5 years in a similar multi-site position, a driving licence, and the ability to lead and train staff. DBS check applies; company van provided along with pension and health benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous trades experience in plumbing, heating, joinery, electrical or a mix.
• 3-5 years’ experience in a multi-site role.
• Experience mentoring and training a small maintenance team.
• A clean driving licence is required for visiting homes.

Responsibilities

• Support daily management and coordination of an experienced maintenance team across multiple sites.
• Perform routine inspections of each home to identify maintenance needs.
• Carry out repairs in plumbing, gardening, painting, flooring (LVT), carpentry, electrical, heating and ventilation.
• Repair/replace faulty equipment promptly and efficiently.
• Address issues related to lighting, fixtures and fittings to maintain safety.
• Ensure communal areas are well maintained, safe and free from obstructions.
• Minimise downtime from equipment failures and extend parts life for TMVs & TRVs.
• Flexibly work across different homes and environments.
• Assist in managing a small team of gardeners to maintain gardens year-round.
• Oversee out-of-hours maintenance on a rota basis and participate in on-call as needed.
• Make regular visits to homes to inspect work and quality.
